A major fire broke out at a plastic factory in Selfoss in South Iceland yesterday evening, reports Vísir. The building is located in the town’s industrial area. Several residents living closest to the fire were evacuated for fear of possible air pollution. The fire’s cause is now under investigation.

Firefighters from Selfoss and neighbouring town of Hveragerði worked tirelessly to put out the fire burning at the building, managing to contain the fire at around midnight. The factory building was completely destroyed in the fire.
