Photo of the Day: Diving in the clear waters of Silfra fissure

By Matt Eliason

The Silfra fissure is located near the shore of Þingvallavatn lake in Þingvellir National Park. A unique aspect of the Silfra fissure is you can actually dive between the North American continent and the European continent because the fissure comes between the tectonic plates of the two continents. But beware, the water is extremely cold!

The area has been voted one of the world’s top cold-water dives and is a majestic part of Iceland's Golden Circle area.
