Fishing vessels moved out of Akranes harbour for Fast and the Furious 8
Principal photography for Fast and the Furious 8 has moved to the fishing village of Akranes in West Iceland. Two of HB Grandi’s capelin fishing vessels, Venus and Víkingur, were sailed from Akranes harbour to Reykjavík to make space for filming.
Filming will begin on 14 April and will mostly take place within the factory building of Sementsverksmiðjan and on the harbour.
According to Fréttablaðið newspaper, around 300 people are working on the film, making it the largest film production in Iceland to date.
