A Christmas tent will be erected at Fótgetagarðurinn square, Aðalstræti, to accommodate those who were not allotted a space at Nova’s Christmas market at Ingólfstorg square. The market will be open for three days, the 21-23rd of December.

The 23rd of December is known as Þorláksessa (Mass of St. Þorlákur) in Iceland. St. Þorlákur Þórhallsson was bishop of Skálholt and is recognised as the patron saint of Iceland. The day has become an integral part of the Icelandic Christmas celebration and many stroll around Laugavegur shopping street during the evening to drink in the festive spirit.
